September 27 marks this year’s World Tourism Day, which is perfectly timed with my own six-month anniversary as a resident of the incredible city that is Melbourne. While it’s been a spectacular adventure from the moment I stepped off the plane (aside from navigating a 32kg suitcase through the airport) there have, naturally, been a few culture shocks along the way.
